I love Therese's patterns, and this is no exception. I'm doing it in slightly brighter colours, but that's the only change.
If you're going to Lang Lang Quilt Show on the 5th & 6th May, I'll be there. I'll get in touch with Therese this weekend and hopefully I'll be able to borrow some of her quilts again. Always makes me soooo happy to have them. Sometimes I just like to pat them.
So the one on the left (above) is block one. I have actually done more of the embroidery blocks but have been pretty slack and not taken photos. I'm using the Cottage Garden Threads variegated cottons. They are made in Gippsland. I still remember the first time I ever saw them, it was in a pattern by Rosalie Quinlan and I was absolutely entranced. I'd never heard of there being a variegated embroidery thread! I reluctantly use plain colours sometimes now, but the CGT ones are my absolute go-to product.
I've also got some X-Large hexies I baste when I really can't be bothered but feel guilty about not being bothered. At least then I'm doing something, not sitting playing Languinis or Word Connect on my phone. They're the latest games that I'm hooked on. At some point I'll probably return to Candy Crush Soda Saga but today is not that day.
Then...........occasionally now I pull out some 3/4" hexies that I'm glue-basting. I'm too lazy to do all the working out to do the pattern I want to put them in - so I just keep gluing every now and again. I'll get there eventually. These are the fabrics (left). I think I need about 7,500 hexies altogether. So, no rush.
